Jaffna prison officer’s home set ablaze by unidentified group

Colombo, July 15 (Daily Mirror) - An unidentified group set fire to the home of a prison officer attached to Jaffna Prison in the early hours of today (15), before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred in the Colombothurai area while the officer and his family were asleep. The group reportedly poured petrol at the front of the house and ignited it.
The family awoke as the fire began to spread and managed to extinguish the flames, preventing significant damage.
Jaffna Police have launched an investigation, and inquiries are ongoing at the scene.
