Jaffna family starts walking as protest demanding permanent residence from President

Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) - A young family from Jaffna begun a protest walk, requesting permanent arrangements for their residence. The family of a 7-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, the husband and the wife, began their walk from Achuveli in Jaffna last evening (06 April).

The family which had been staying at a bus stand for the past few weeks due to this issue, stated that they will continue their walk until their request reaches the President's attention.

However, officials mentioned that the family had met the Governor of the Northern Province a few days ago, and based on the Governor's instructions, steps are being taken to provide them with a plot of land.
