Is Shah Rukh Khan to be paid from reserves, questions Opposition MP

Colombo, July 09 (Daily Mirror)- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Hector Appuhamy said the government must reveal whether dollars in the country’s reserves will be used to pay for Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan, who is to arrive in Sri Lanka to open a casino.

The MP told Parliament that the National People's Power (NPP) that spoke against casinos when they were in the opposition, are now going to bring Shah Rukh Khan to declare open a casino.

"How will the dollars be found to pay Shah Rukh Khan? The government must reveal whether dollars in the reserves will be used for that," he said.

The MP said the NPP is now promoting casinos to raise tax money, whereas it had spoken about ethics while in the opposition.
