International schools ordered to close amid severe weather



The Education Ministry has directed all international schools across country to close temporarily with immediate effect in view of the severe adverse weather affecting several parts of the country.

Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education announced that the decision was taken prioritising the safety and wellbeing of students amid rising risks posed by heavy rainfall, floods and landslides.

The Ministry urged all school administrations to extend their fullest cooperation and ensure adherence to the directive until further notice. Officials added that updates regarding the reopening of schools will be issued depending on weather improvements and safety assessments.
