Sri Lanka Skipper Dasun Shanaka will not take part in today's warm-up game against Afghanistan, as the all-rounder is recovering from a 'strain' he experienced on his left elbow following the earlier game against Bangladesh.
Shanaka is under medical treatment and is in the process of recovery.
Meanwhile, Kusal Janith Perera, who experienced pain on his 'right shoulder', during Sri Lanka's warm-up game against Bangladesh, is currently under medical treatment and is in the process of recovery.
In addition, Maheesh Theekshana, who did not travel with the team to India on September 26, will join the squad on October 4, 2023.

He should take rest and lets see how things will happen.

Shanaka is out of form and selectors have to give him some time to recover without put him under pressure. Let him rest for rest of the WC matches and give opportunity to Chamika or Anjelo.

Angelo is not an option, if he comes the team unity will not be there.

How did he strain anything. He only scored three runs and did not bowl. The best thing he can do is strain the other shoulder and not play at all.

Without Dasun the team will perform Better Let him go home

Good news

The strain is due to carrying a suitcase full of ill gotten dollars.

What a vengeance for The Afghans and Bangalis! Afghans failed narrowly in the Asia Cup. Bangalis too were beaten. These two matches could be warm-ups but how are they going to cope against the 9 Nations in the World Cup kick starting on 5th October 2023. Tough ask but let's join hands together and support our Sri Lanka. Excluding former captains Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal could be a minus point/costly blunder. Angelo can bat at the same time can be handy with the ball. Chandi could put havoc on the opposition. This is World Cup and not a normal tournament. Let's wait and see!

Sri Lanka, the side with no significant bowlers. Will be pounced to the bits in time to come.

Best if he take rest the entire WC. Perhaps, Dimuth K shoul lead temporarily

I don't think undue pressure will help any cause. It will help if everyone backs the team selected to play for the world Cup. Chopping and changing will lead to a disaster. Good luck to Sri Lanka and do your best for your country. You are a talented bunch but keep your act together.

Eternal rest can do good for the team. Better be a spectator and Dimuth Karunaratne do the job.
