India beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets to win Women’s T20 Asia Cup

India became the new Asian women champions as they thrashed Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the final on Saturday in Sylhet.

Chasing an easy 66-run target, Smriti Mandhana top-scored with an unbeaten 51 off 25 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also returned unbeaten on 11.

Earlier, India restricted Sri Lanka to 65 for 9 in 20 overs in the big finale on Saturday in Sylhet.

When it comes to individual or team sporting tournaments the only two ingredients needed are talent and confidence. But after playing through the tournament matches and reaching the finals it is safe to assume the opposing combatants still standing are of equal talent. Thus the finals are all about confidence. When Sri Lanka as a country feels intimidated by India in many aspects both politically and socially then it has a very negative impact on all Sri Lankans interacting with India in any situation.

Very disappointed in the way the Sri Lankans batted and gifted their wickets to India. All their good work up to the finals was undone with a pathetic batting display in the finals. Let's hope we never see such a poor performance ever again.

Just like the economy...sri Lanka inflated artificially and lost miscerabally ! There is a saying "the dog does not eat hay, and also will not let the cow enjoy it'!!!!! SL cannot perform at that level and didn't allow others teams to enter the final as well.

@ Lankan for Unity.. You must be right.. i heard Namibia also did the same thing in t20 world cup.. demoralized Sri Lanka out side playing channels - they told the Lankans that if you don't lose, we will send cheetahs and lions into your country.. Even during Asia Cup, Afghanistan played the same trick.. Not sure what was told to Lankans outside normal channels.. Do you have any idea about that?
