Import restrictions on over 300 products to be relaxed tonight

The import restrictions imposed on 328 more items will be relaxed tonight, State Minister for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

Last year, due to the foreign exchange crisis, the Government imposed restrictions on the import of 1,465 items.

However, subsequently, certain restrictions were gradually relaxed on selected products, considering the evolving economic situation. (DSB)

We seriously have a serious crisis regarding foreign exchange currently. Rupee is in nose dive and non of the loans are paid but taking more loans. We are in deeper situation than before but only few could see.
