Parliament, Dec. 13 (Daily Mirror) - The International Cricket Council (ICC) does not consider what is said in Parliament on Sri Lanka’s cricket as they have a certain way of doing things, Minister of Sports Harin Fernando told Parliament today.
Minister Fernando was responding to a question raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, and said there is no point in talking of Sri Lanka’s cricket in Parliament as the ICC does not take into consideration what is debated.
"The ICC works in a different way. Therefore, there is no point in shouting on cricket in the House. Some, including the Leader of the Opposition do not understand this fact,” the Minister said.
He was referring to a remark made by MP Premadasa on cricket.
“We have approved a resolution to sack the officer bearers of SLC. One wonders what is happening regarding the resolution approved by Parliament,” Premadasa said.
“We have handed over the task of filing legal action against those who are corrupt in SLC to the Attorney General. We will also change the sports law based on the recommendations of the Chithrasiri report,” Minister Fernando said in response to the Leader of the Opposition.

Sri Lanka's cricket victory of 1996 World cup made this country excellent world recognition, with master batsmen like Sanath Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva and Arujunaa Ranatunga thrashing the balls mostly sixes and fours, the world feared to play with Sri Lanka cricketers, today's corrupt officials and politicians brought mayhem to Sri Lankan cricket, our minister's current assessment is correct.

Mr.Harin Sir.you are right.ICC is dealing direct with their Authority Sri Lanka Cricket Board for all matters if I am not wrong all financial dealings .The same law applies to other country as well.Any issues Board and Govt. has to sort it out which the Govt.ia doing now. But ourGovt. Also has the resonsibility to safeguard our cricket intergrity which every Govt.politician is talking wholeheartedly for the love of this game for the 22 million.ICc came into real scene after 1982 gaining test status.Before that Govts were looking after cricket financially etc.with greatest difficulty!!! It was an Era cricketers were travelling inCTB buses for practising.Still we have to love our Govt.and opposition in this regard whatever mistakes or shortcomings they have in their dealings or acts.ICC comes next after our Govt.

The ICC is also corrupted with Indian money. They are also corrupted as some players and keep a blind eye to what's happening in some countries.
