High Court refuses bail to Keheliya

The bail application filed on behalf of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, who is currently held in remand custody in connection with the alleged import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections, was today rejected by Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka.

    You can say that only after he has been found guilty and sentenced to prison (preferably a very lengthy sentence along with a huge fine).

    At the end he will be discharged for a defect in the charge or not enough evidence. The only punishment is him being held in remand custody. Many other politicians that included Namal Basil etc ended that way

    If this fellow and Gnansara are released, it should be availed for more than 50% of the convicts in the prison as most are of similar crimes. Hope a public-spirited lawyer will argue on that basis. We are now having little bit of hope in the legal system.
