Colombo, August 26 (Daily Mirror) - Heavy traffic congestion was reported on several roads in Colombo this morning (26) as Opposition members arrived to extend support to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, whose court case is being heard today.

Accordingly, traffic was severely affected along several roads from Colombo Fort to the Lake House Roundabout and Kompannaveediya, police said.

I don't understand what the problem is. It was the rule of law that led to Ranil's arrest. He shouldn't be allowed to go free just because he is a former president. If that's the case, what should we do about the Rajapakses? The law should apply equally to everyone, regardless of their status. Didn't we elect Anura to hold corrupt individuals accountable? If that is the case, then those who are complaining must be afraid of their own actions.

The biggest question is whether the opposition party leaders are respecting the democratic principles or not. The arrest of the former president RW has already been challenged in the court. Nobody can intervene in to the court proceedings . The court should decide whether RW is granted bail or not according the seriousness and gravity of the offence what RW has committed. During previous regimes the judges were more declined to deliver certain judgments due to immense political pressure. Now it very clear that the judiciary is almost impartial. Nobody from the ministers to the president is not deliberately probing into the precise trajectory of the court. As citizens of this country we all should appreciate it
