Colombo, August 11 (Daily Mirror) - Health experts are cautioning the public to keep their surroundings clean to reduce the risk of dengue and rat fever, especially during the rainy season.
Dr. Deepal Perera, Consultant Pediatrician at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH), highlighted that during school holidays, children flying kites in paddy fields may be particularly vulnerable to contracting rat fever.
He warned that symptoms such as high fever lasting more than three days, headache, joint and muscle pain, and red eyes should not be ignored.
Dr. Perera urged parents and guardians to seek prompt medical attention to prevent serious complications from the disease.
