Health Ministry suspends approval of staff leave

Colombo, August 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Health and Mass Media Ministry has temporarily suspended the approval of both domestic and foreign leave for its staff until further notice.

The decision has been taken in line with Public Administration Circular 14/2022, Public Enterprise Circular No. PED 05/2022, and related circulars.

Secretary to the Ministry, Specialist Dr. Anil Jasinghe, noted that frequent leave-taking has made it difficult for the Ministry’s staff to continue essential duties. Accordingly, he has issued instructions in writing to all heads of departments, including additional secretaries.

The letter further states that the recruitment of new officers to fill existing vacancies in the Ministry has also been restricted.
