Head-on collision between bus and trishaw claims two lives

Two persons were killed while three others were left in a critical condition following a head-on collision between a private bus and a three-wheeler in the Galewela Beligamuwa area on the Kurunegala Dambulla main road this morning.

The incident occurred when a private bus, en route from Jaffna to Embilipitiya, collided with a three-wheeler travelling from the Arachchikattuwa area to Dambulla.

The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate deaths of two individuals who were travelling in the three-wheeler.

An injured woman, a man and a 6-year-old boy were initially rushed to the Galewela Hospital. However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were later transferred to the Dambulla Hospital.

One of the injured men was transferred to the National Hospital in Kandy for further medical attention.

Police are conducting investigations into the accident.

Bus drivers and treewheelers are among the worse drivers on the roads purely due to poor behavior on roads no proper guidance no proper education no proper basic common sense this fellows just drive with taking risk all the time they don't practice intelligent driving skills have no respect for other drivers very inpatient always in a hurry to lead....majority bus threewheel drivers are not suitable to drive due to very poor education don't take no responsibility on roads for others safty or own safty very poor background have no basic maners this fellows liecence should be renewed specialy public transport license every public transport driver should own a driving license with a background education basic common sense driver education program to hold public transport license to keep passengers road user's safe government must impliment a system training school prior by charging a fee and to renew every year to keep all road user's safe drivers will respect the license daily earnings
