Gunman arrested after failed shooting attempt in Katunayake

Colombo, April 22 (Daily Mirror) - A suspect was arrested following a failed shooting attempt at Andiambalama in Katunayake this morning, police said.

Police said two individuals on a motorcycle had attempted to target a businessman in the area. However, their attempt was foiled when the weapon reportedly malfunctioned, preventing the shooting attempt.

Police said one of the suspects was arrested at the scene along with the firearm used in the attempted attack. The second suspect managed to flee.

A search operation has been launched to arrest the second gunman.
