Groom dies on horse moments after dancing at baraat, bride faints

BHOPAL (Times of India) : A 27-year-old groom collapsed and died while still sitting on a mare in MP's Sheopur district on Friday night.

The groom, Pradeep Jat, danced at his baraat and climbed back on his horse but immediately slumped against it. Doctors suspect he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Pradeep's last rites were performed on Saturday.

Just a week ago, a 23-year-old woman died while dancing at her cousin's sangeet in Vidisha district.

Wedding videos show Pradeep arriving at the bride's house with his baraat around 11pm. He was warmly welcomed. After the traditional rituals, he struck the door with a 'toran' and then began dancing to DJ music. After a while, he got back on the mare but began to lean on it, as if fatigued.

Initially, guests assumed he was exhausted from dancing, but when they saw he was unconscious, they immediately brought him down and began administering CPR.

He was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The bride fainted upon hearing the news. Pradeep was a former district president of NSUI.
