Colombo, August 25 (Daily Mirror) - The government will launch a series of large-scale development projects from September under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake said.

He said the first phase will commence on September 2 in Jaffna, with development in the Northern Province focused on creating a new “Coconut Triangle” in the Mullaitivu region of Vanni. An international sports complex is also planned for Mandaitivu, Jaffna.

Rathnayake added that the longstanding issue faced by Jaffna residents in obtaining passports will soon be resolved, as the service will be made available online through the Kachcheri.

“These projects mark the beginning of a national-level development drive aimed at directly benefiting the people,” he emphasized.

It is good to see some projects are being done in Jaffna and thank you for this : since 1948, north and east are neglected please do these projects to win the hearts and minds of people in all parts of the country: Colombo elites don’t want to like to see these good projects : they looted public money and you are great people and do all these good projects in all areas : Don’t worry about what politicians in opposition say they can bark as political doges but you keep doing good work : All your good work will be paid off in 2029. And next 25 years you will be in power and then Sajith will be in his old age waiting for his last years in his life : Don’t worry what some nasty people say because they can’t make money now

Quickly steal and get lost, before too in Sri Lanka major development projects were launched and SL's economy became piece of shit in the eyes of other nations. Those purchased bonds at CBSL Auctions are disposing off at a lesser rate, fearing the recovery.

Economic malaises were created since 1948 by all short sighted politicians who ruled to ruin this country. So it will take many more years to rectify this. Don't expect miracles overnight. Be aware that at-least bribery, corruption nepotism and hooliganism are slowly being weaned out now and the law is applied equally to all.

Comrade Transport. Now you are into agriculture. Coconut tringle comrade talks about is what was conceptualized in 2014 by an NGO called Coconut Corporative. It was promoting a second coconut triangle Jaffna Mannar and Mullaitivu regions not just Mullaitivu area. BTW coconut triangle is a virtual concept covering Kurunegala Puttalam and Gampaha district because the region has the largest concentration of coconut cultivation and runs in to decades if not centuries. Comrade Transport is very poor in take up just like making himself a laughing stock trying to define what a white paper is. Now moving into Mandaitivu international sport complex. Mandaitivu is an islet of just 7.2 sq km and population of about 3000 or so about 2 km from Jaffna. Are you off your nuts to put up an inter national sport complex without any infrastructure development which will cost mush more than the complex itself. Guys are going mad I suppose.
