Colombo, May 1 (Daily Mirror) - The government will resolve all the salary anomalies of the pensioners in the upcoming budget in November, National Trade Union Centre President and Minister Lal Kantha said today.

Adressing the National People's Power (NPP) May Day rally on Galle Face Green, he said the government resolved the long standing issue of the pensioners in the budget for 2025 and that several more issues concerning the pensioners are still remaining.

The Minister said the government will take steps to resolve all the issues of the pensioners in the upcoming budget in November this year.

What about senior citizens who live on monthly interest and don't get a pension? They are mercilessly suffering and are conveniently forgotten! In other countries senior citizens are provided with many benefits like free transportation, half price for medication etc. etc. irrespective of whether it is government transport, government pharmacy or private.

Highest priority required for the Pensioners over the serving employees as they will not be able to draw their Salary in the next life. ( If they are fortunate enough they may have avery rare chance to have a re-birth here, which is highly unlikely). Do not postpone, please.
