Gnanasara Thera should share terrorist group info with CID: Minister

Colombo, March 26 (Daily Mirror) - If Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera has information regarding an operational terrorist group beyond what is known to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), he can hand it over to them, Cabinet spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.

Addressing the media, he said that the CID is carrying out a major operation to uncover the network. He said that all citizens have a responsibility to share any information they possess with the security forces in the interest of national security.

Speaking at two media briefings, Gnanasara Thera claimed that he would share whatever information he had only with the President and the Defence Secretary. However, Minister Jayatissa pointed out that the President does not conduct investigations but the CID does.

Gnanasara Thera is already familiar with individuals in the government intelligence service. Therefore, he can directly and clearly disclose his information to them, he added.

Aiyo salli! why is evry one making the statement to the wrong audience. If Gnanasara thero wanted to tell it to the president or the defsec he should have spoken to one of them rather than telling that to us folks via a press conference. Likewise if the minister want to tell the thero to tell whatever he knows to the CID the minister could have just picked the phone and respectfully told so to the thero without wasting our time by telling it to us via the press. Both are leaders we have and both are disasters to have as leaders when they behave like this. Two drama queens with a wrong orifice.

If all this thera fellow has said over the years is true we would have been an islamic republic by now! Dude said so many things that when an extremist incidence occured of course it seems like he warned us! Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Trying to get the old rajapaksha clan back in power so his V8 will be well fueled and therell be plenty of foreign trips. Sri Lankan people are vary of his tricks, at least for nw.

This man was accommodated by some former rulers for their own benefit to win votes. But today the rulers have no need for men like Gnanasara. So he is trying to get their attention. The only way he knows how to do it through public rambling. Who cares? There are more important things for the Govt. to do and this man can wait.
