Giraffe dies in Dehiwala zoo
Colombo, Dec.8 (Daily Mirror) - One of the two Giraffes in the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens died yesterday suspected to be due to an allergy, National Zoological Gardens Director General Ranjan Marasinghe said.
He told the Daily Mirror that the animal suffered with an infection on one of its front hoofs and the antibiotics administered to the animal may have caused an allergy.
He said the actual cause of death cannot be confirmed till the postmortem report is received.
The Giraffe had suffered with the infection during the past week.
