Gazette banning importing of rice issued

An extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued banning the import of rice, except for Basmathi variety.

Goods which have been shipped on board or opened Letter of Credit (LC) on or before December 9, 2022 would be allowed for custom clearance, the gazette states.

Large quantity imported by political related parties, create an artificial out of stock, increase the price and make big profit. It is that simple. In the end nobody is held accountable. Eg: Sugar Scam
