Galle Face attack case: Court revokes travel ban on SDIG Deshabandu

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court today ordered to revoke the overseas travel ban imposed on Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon in connection with the magisterial inquiry into the Galle Face attack.

The court had earlier issued an order preventing Senior DIG Tennakoon from leaving the country following the mob attack that took place at Temple Trees and Galle Face on May 9, 2022. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

It is a damn shame on the legal system. No wonder people do not respect the laws of the land. Everyone is crooked. Thus the law itself becomes crooked. This decision is from the top to pave the way for him to be made the next IGP. Usually such tops posts are for those who are willing to dance to the tune of the leaders. Everyone knows that.
