Surprised cos here in the Middle East oil prices just went up this month. Coming to think of it petrol might be cheaper in Sri Lanka than Dubai.

    Ranaweera Wednesday, 01 May 2024 08:05 AM

CPC is still fleecing a huge profit so fuel prices can be reduced further more.

    Dee Wednesday, 01 May 2024 08:05 AM

3 wheeler fares and bus fares will be increased. Lunch packets and tea will also be increased.

    Sobers Wednesday, 01 May 2024 08:28 AM

This stunt was expected. Increase in Samurdhi beneficiaries, now reduction in oil prices, much more to come...our idiotic masses will vote for the rogues again to power.

    Rishan Wednesday, 01 May 2024 09:14 AM

Worst case even though the prices of fuel and $ rates come down, no price revision comes ...just check the prices of clothing, vehicle service cost , spare parts , food items , milk powder( sustagen, ensure, full cream , lactogen , infant ) , medicines ..... pathetic.... just check the price with India..... even 3 wheel charges .....

    Dee Wednesday, 01 May 2024 01:10 PM

All your problem areas are caused by traders and service providers who fleece the public, not by the government. Government should NOT reduce normal diesel price. Because like you very correctly say, bus fare/ 3 wheeler fares or other goods related to transport will NOT be reduced by the rogue traders. Also why give normal petrol , kerosene and diesel at cost or below and make profits by unfair super petrol/ diesel. Because the recipients of kerosene, normal petrol and diesel will never appreciate reductions and will always demand for for free things.

    These are called election tactics.

    Shariq Wednesday, 01 May 2024 10:32 AM

election or no election the math is correct, when the dollar becomes cheaper to purchase so does the cost of goods and services.

    Sujja Wednesday, 01 May 2024 10:38 AM

This is called playing to the audience of fools. Look at the increment Vs reductions.

    IooSirisena Wednesday, 01 May 2024 01:35 PM

So many comments above saying that this is an election tactic. None of these pandiths who are commenting seems to know that the fuel price is calculated monthly based on a formula. No wonder these people support JVP.. good luck to SL with people like this.

These are Punakku and Thanakola for Gonnu as the election is coming! People think and vote for something!
