Free vehicle tuning camp, awareness programme in Kegalle to mark World Environment Day

Colombo, May 29 (Daily Mirror) - In conjunction with World Environment Day, the Vehicle Emissions Trust Fund will organise a free motorcycle and three-wheeler tuning camp, along with an awareness programme on fuel efficiency and air pollution, on May 31, the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) said.

They said the event will take place at Nidahas Mawatha, Kegalle from 10 am onwards.

This year, the 'Day to Reduce Air Pollution and Its Adverse Effects' will also be observed on May 31, 2025, ahead of World Environment Day on June 5. The programme aims to raise public awareness on the importance of reducing air pollution and promoting eco-friendly practices.

The inaugural ceremony is scheduled to be held under the patronage of the Environment Minister.

Organised for the fifth consecutive year, this initiative by the Vehicle Emissions Trust Fund will be conducted under the theme 'Beautiful Country, A Clean Breath.'

The event will offer free emission testing and vehicle tuning services for motorcycles and three-wheelers, while educating vehicle owners and the public on fuel-saving tips and the harmful effects of air pollution.

The organisers invite residents of Kegalle and surrounding areas to participate in this timely and impactful programme.
