France says Police to use armoured vehicles against riots

French police will use armoured vehicles to suppress riots, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said Friday, after three nights of violence following the deadly shooting of a teenager during a traffic stop.

"Additional mobile forces" would be deployed along with the vehicles belonging to France's gendarmerie, Borne said, also announcing the cancellation of "large-scale events binding personnel and potentially posing risks to public order".

If a third world country uses armoured vehicles to attack violent demonstrations, countries like France would immediately take to the moral high ground and condemn the third world country for it’s actions but when they face violent demonstrations in their own countries they do whatever they want to control the riots . Now from today the French Police are behaving like an occupying Army and using armoured vehicles to smash up the demonstrators, who are not foreigners but brown skin French citizens. All the media in Europe and America are on the same page, supporting the French police wholeheartedly. And the hypocritical UN is conveniently keeping very quiet.

Sri Lankans should not get over excited about it. What happens in France is nowhere near what happened in SL. Very few fatalities in France. Anger is mainly against the police and not against an ethnic group. The French police is not a political tool of political families.

The Truth: I agree. It will be better if the Western countries don't interfere with Sri Lanka at all anymore and stop all the millions of aid and charity Sri Lanka receives from us. We better use those millions for proper care for the refugees that enter Europe from countries like yours.

The execution style killing of Nahel Mourzouk sparked the riot. He was a French Algerian Muslim child of 17 years living with his single mother and grandmother and worked as a pizza delivery driver to help support his family. Violence by anyone cannot be condoned. It is just wrong.
