Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - Rail services on the Upcountry route will be disrupted tomorrow morning as four trains have been cancelled due to ongoing adverse weather conditions.
The disruption comes after an earth mound collapsed on the railway line between Balana and Upper Kotte today, causing the derailment of a train near the Upper Kotte railway station. In addition, roads near the railway line have collapsed in two locations, further affecting traffic in the area.
As a result, 18 train services were cancelled today. Tomorrow morning, the following services from Kandy and Matale to Colombo Fort and Beliatta will also remain suspended:
04.30 am — Kandy to Colombo Fort
04.50 am — Matale to Colombo Fort
05.00 am — Kandy to Beliatta
06.15 am — Kandy to Colombo Fort
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated with official railway announcements.
