Four arrested for killing Olive Ridley turtles in Negombo
Colombo, March 30 (Daily Mirror) - Four individuals who killed Olive Ridley sea turtles and were found in possession of five kilograms of turtle flesh were arrested by Negombo Coastal Conservation Officers, the Department of Wildlife Conservation said.
They were later produced before the Negombo Magistrate, who imposed a fine of Rs. 200,000 on each of them.
The magistrate ordered the confiscated turtle flesh to be destroyed in accordance with the court order.
