Colombo, August 20 (Daily Mirror) - Four army personnel, including a sergeant, have been remanded until August 26 in connection with the death of a 32-year-old man whose body was recovered from the Muthiyankaddu Tank in Mullaitivu.
The case relates to the death of Edirmanasingam Kabilraj, who had reportedly entered an Army camp in Mullaitivu on August 9 to collect scrap iron. According to reports, he fled the camp after being spotted by army personnel, and his body was later discovered in the nearby tank.
The suspects were produced before Mullaitivu Acting Magistrate S.H. Marus yesterday (19) and were subsequently ordered to be remanded.
They were also subjected to an identification parade, during which two of them were identified by witnesses.
