Colombo, Nov. 3 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard have seized four Indian fishing boats and apprehended 35 Indian fishermen, while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Veththalakerni and the Analativu Island, Jaffna.
The Navy said arrests were made during operations conducted yesterday and wee hours of today.
The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard continue to conduct regular operations as proactive measures to deter illegal fishing activities.
The fishing boats along with the fishermen held in these operations were handed over to the Kayts Police and Fisheries Inspector of Mailadi for legal proceedings.
