Former envoy Kananathan congratulates Central African Republic President



Colombo, January 6 (Daily Mirror) - Former Ambassador Kananathan has extended his warm congratulations to President Faustin-Archange Touadéra following his election victory as President of the Central African Republic (CAR) in which he he won for the third term securing  76.15% of the votes as per the results released yesterday.

In his message, Ambassador Kananathan emphasized the close and enduring relationship he has shared with President Touadéra over the years, built on mutual trust, respect, and sustained collaboration in support of the Central African Republic’s national development objectives. He praised the confidence placed in President Touadéra by the people of CAR and reaffirmed his admiration for the President’s leadership, vision, and commitment to peace, stability, and economic progress.

Kananathan also previously served as an adviser to the Department of Major Works and Strategic Investments in the Central African Republic under the direct authority of President Touadéra. In this role, he leveraged his extensive expertise to advance critical investment initiatives, support major infrastructure projects, and contribute to the formulation of forward-looking economic policies aimed at sustainable growth.
