A former Urban Councillor, who was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) in connection with an attack on a police officer near the Fort Magistrate’s Court, was today ordered to be remanded until September 8.

The incident took place on Tuesday when a police officer sustained injuries after being hit by a bottle thrown by an agitated protester outside the court premises.

What a moron. Is it OK to hit a TV reporter? The courthouse is not a place for protests. They are doing the interpretation of the law and the enforcement of the law. No lawyer could protest either. They could witness the process that is all. It would be fine for you to defend the accused, too. The MR and RW type of law enforcement needs to end. You need to learn to debate logically, but no the way Tilak Marapona and the PC defending him. Nothing that took place in the courthouse, including the charges laid against RW compromises democracy. That is how democracy should work, instead of using white vans and disappearances.
