Former Speaker Asoka Ranwala hospitalised after road accident in Sapugaskanda

Colombo, December 11 (Daily Mirror) - National People’s Power (NPP) MP and former Speaker Asoka Ranwala was hospitalised this evening following a road accident in the Sapugaskanda area, police said.

The accident occurred in the Deniyamulla area in Sapugaskanda when the MP’s vehicle collided with a car. According to police, the former Speaker was reported to have been driving his vehicle at the time of the incident and was admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment.

A woman and a child travelling in the car also sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.

Sapugaskanda Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
