Colombo, June 5 (Daily Mirror) - Former General Manager of the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation Ms. M.R. Srimati Mallika Kumari Senadheera was arrested today by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

She was taken into custody at the Commission premises over allegations of corruption linked to the opening ceremony of the first phase of the Weras Ganga Project

According to the Commission, she had allegedly selected an institution outside approved procurement procedures to handle the event, thereby providing undue advantage to that institution.

Investigators alleged that Rs. 27 million from the project fund was used for the ceremony, despite no official allocation for such expenses.

She is to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The total of all these scamming, stealing and waste is horrendously shocking! Why did the politicians, officials allow these astonishing corruption to continue? Isn't this their country too, where their children one day have to live as adults? Aren't we, Sri Lankans, extremely unfortunate?

Let us all set some good examples by stopping all frauds and corruption : now NPP set some examples and they are indeed role model to all. They have been doing this for the last 6 months since they came to power / all what they want is create just and equal society to all without any corruption and fraud: They have start this from themselves before they ask all others they do it for themselves action speak louder and any MPs found guilty will be punished
