Former Deputy Minister Chandrasena further remanded

Colombo, July 18 (Daily Mirror) - Former Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Special Projects, Samarakoon Mudiyanselage Chandrasena was ordered to be remanded further by Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayathunga till August 1 over allegations of misusing state resources during the 2015 Presidential Election.

CIABOC informed the court that Chandrasena had allegedly influenced officials of the Anuradhapura District Secretariat in 2014 to distribute seed paddy worth Rs. 25 million procured for low income farmers among his political allies, just ahead of the 2015 election, causing a loss to the state.
