Foreigner arrested in Weligama suspected ice manufacturing raid

Colombo, Sept. 21 (Daily Mirror) - An 18-year-old foreign national has been arrested following a raid on a suspected drug manufacturing site in the Weligama area.

Police said that the raid uncovered a stock of methamphetamine, a key ingredient used in the production of the narcotic drug known as Ice.

The arrested individual has been identified as a Maltese national.

Well, what do you expect when we open our doors freely to the world without vetting entry or visas? We should follow Bali and Thailand with our sentencing! These people ruin lives, so nothing short of 25 years at least without bail! Fines should go towards rehabilitation centres!

What about raids on the drug-fuelled tourist raves? Fine, imprison; no bail, lifetime blacklist and deport! Set up a public hotline to report any suspected drug- related activity. We need a joint effort to get rid of this scum!
