Foreign trawler carrying heroin arrested with 9 foreigners in SL waters

A foreign multi-day trawler carrying consignments of heroin had been taken into the custody along with 9 foreign suspects in the Sri Lankan waters.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the suspects were arrested last night during a special operation conducted by the SSP in charge of the Batticaloa Division and the Navy.

He said that the seized heroin, the multi-day trawler and the suspects are being brought to the Sri Lankan coast by the Navy.(DSB)
