Colombo, February 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sri Lanka said that it is maintaining close and continuous contact with all Sri Lankan diplomatic missions across the Middle Eastern region amid the escalating tensions.
According to Director General (Public Diplomacy) Thushara Rodrigo, the Ministry is closely monitoring ongoing developments and coordinating directly with Heads of Mission stationed in the affected countries.
Sri Lankan missions in the Middle East have established emergency hotlines to ensure that Sri Lankan nationals can remain in contact with their respective embassies or consulates in case of urgent requirements.
The Ministry stated that, at present, there has been no significant impact reported on Sri Lankans residing in the region. However, precautionary measures remain in place, and missions have been instructed to stay vigilant and responsive.
In addition, the Foreign Ministry in Colombo is in the process of setting up a dedicated emergency hotline to further assist concerned families and individuals seeking information.
