Fmr Kotte SLPP Councillor arrested for indecent exposure to lady school principal, parents

Former Kotte SLPP Municipal Councillor, Denzil Padmasiri was arrested by the Welikada Police for allegedly exposing his private parts to the principal and a group of parents of a leading girls' school in Kotte.

According to the police, the principal and parents complained to the Welikada Police, alleging that a former Councillor who is an activist named Samantha Peris had been harassing the principal by sharing inappropriate posts through a WhatsApp group.

Consequently, the police summoned both parties to the police station last Sunday to investigate the complaint. During this process, the former Councillor, Samantha Peris, accompanied Denzil Padmasiri to the police station.

However, the principal and parents later filed another complaint with the police, claiming that Councillor Denzil Padmasiri had exposed himself to them outside the Welikada Police canteen while leaving the station.

As a result, the police arrested the councillor after he surrendered to the Welikada Police through his attorney-at-law yesterday.

He is scheduled to appear before the courts today to face charges.
