Colombo, Dec. 22 (Daily Mirror) - The flood warnings issued by the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division of the Department of Irrigation for the Mahaweli River basins have been withdrawn.
The Department of Irrigation said flood warnings for the Mahaweli River basins were withdrawn as the water levels have now receded to normal conditions.
It said the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division continues to closely monitor variations in islandwide rainfall conditions and changes in river water levels and if any flood situation arises, all necessary measures have been taken to issue prior warnings accordingly.
