Five-member delimitation committee appointed

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardene has appointed a 5-member National Delimitation Committee on demarcation of wards for local authorities, chaired by former Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya.

An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued appointing the committee.

The members of the commission are;

Mahinda Deshapriya (Chairman)
Jayalath R. V. Dissanayake (Member)
W. M. M. R. Adikari (Member)
Thavalingam (Member)
I. A. Hameed (Member).

Mahinda Deshapriya is the culprit who failed to check Gota's citizenship status and he is given new appointments. He must be punished for his lapse

Mahinda Deshapriya was responsible that Gota from the criminal Rajapaksa mafia clan could be elected as president. This corrupt crook knew full well that Gota had not yet been released of US citizenship at the time of the election. As Election Commissioner, duty bound to the citizens, it would have been his duty to prevent the nomination. He had inexcusably violated his oath of office to serve the people. This clunge-stalking shitestain belongs behind bars and not in public office.

Why has this Delimitation Committee been appointed, Is it to re- demarcate the wards with a view to increase the sizes and thereby reduce the number of members in Local Councils, or, is it to reduce the sizes and thereby increase the number of members? Is there no time frame stipulated for submission of the report or, can the Committee deliberate for a few years in order to put off Elections until the Report is ready?
