Fishermen requested not to go beyond Sri Lankan territorial waters

Colombo, March 5 (Daily Mirror) - Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar today requested Sri Lankan fishmen not to intrude into International waters violating Sri Lanka's territorial waters.

The Minister told Parliament that it is the duty of the government to ensure the safety of the fishing community considering the incidents developing in Sri Lanka's territorial waters and international waters.

"I request all fishing community not to intrude into other waters violating our territorial waters for the time being," he said.
