The first Randoli Perahera of the historic Kandy Esala Perahera took to the streets this evening, beginning at the auspicious time of 7:16 p.m.

The sacred relic casket was majestically carried by the famed tusker Indiraja, accompanied by the elephants Pulathisi Raja and Buruma Raja, adding grandeur to the vibrant procession.

Thousands of devotees and spectators gathered along the streets of Kandy to witness the cultural and religious spectacle, which is a key highlight of Sri Lanka’s Buddhist calendar.
