Fire on MV X-Press Pearl: Two Indian crew members test COVID positive

The two Indian crew members who were  hospitalised after being rescued from the distressed MV X-Press Pearl ship, tested positive with COVID-19.

They were admitted to the National Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital where they had undergone a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

An explosion was reported on board the burning Singapore-flag ship ‘X-PRESS PEARL’in the seas off Colombo Port and subsequently the Navy rescued its crew and two of them hospitalised with injuries.
