Fire breaks out at matchbox factory in Pallekele
A fire broke out at a matchbox factory in Pallekele, Kandy, last night (5), causing panic in the area.
The blaze is reported to have started in a warehouse where matchboxes were stored. Three fire engines from the Kandy Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and are currently engaged in extinguishing the fire.
The Pallekele Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage. No casualties have been reported so far.
