Fire breaks out at Borella function hall

A fire broke out at a function hall on Castle Street, Borella, last night and later extinguished. 

Police said that all attendees were safely evacuated during the event. 

The Fire Services Department deployed four fire engines, with two more from the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council assisting in the operation.

Significant damage was reported to the building, but no casualties were reported.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
