Colombo, April 19 (Daily Mirror) - The final rites of the late former Deputy Minister Palitha Thevarapperuma are scheduled to be performed today (19) in the grave prepared by him, family sources said.

Accordingly, the burial ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the burial site in the Yatadolawatta area of Mathugama, which he prepared while he was alive.

The body of the late former Deputy Minister was brought to his home on Wednesday (17) night, where a large crowd arrived to pay their last respects.

He died from electrocution when he was attempting to connect two electrical wires at his home and died after being admitted to the Nagoda Hospital on April 16.

Party is immaterial, but Palitha Thavaraperuma was a close friend of the poor man. Hats off Sir may your precious soul rest in peace.

Honestly speaking RW should have arranged a State Funeral for this good-hearted person who did a great service for his people. [Believe me, he gave 20,000/- from his money to bury a Poor Tamil Estate Worker]

I think his wish was for a private funeral that could be reason that the GOSL did not get involved with the funeral arrangements. He was a good human being. May his Soul Rest in Eternal Peace

Good people die young. May he RIP. There is a handful of good politicians in the parliament. Mostly rotten

Rest in peace Minister Thevarapperuma. Saw him several times on the road with people working on some issue the people had. Truly one of kind of a politician. These other scum bags should have been electrocuted.
