Final decision next week on both companies selling LP gas at same price

A final decision on both domestic LP gas companies in the country to sell gas at the same price will be taken within the next week, Commerce and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando said.

The domestic LP gas supply to the country has been carried out in violation of consumer rights, charged the Minister.

While posting a message on his official Facebook page, he pointed out that business institutions have been able to maintain the prices of most goods at a certain stable level during the current economic crisis even though their businesses have been affected during the recent past.

However, the two gas import companies in the island have committed a major injustice to the consumers through their price revisions, the Minister said, adding that a final decision on the same prices for the domestic LP gas from both companies will be taken within the coming week.
