Colombo, July 3 (Daily Mirror) - Fifteen passengers were injured when a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling to Kandy via Kudugala veered off the road and overturned near the Araliya Uyana area in Wattegama, police said. The injured were admitted to the Wattegama Hospital.
At the time of the accident, there were around 25 passengers on board. According to SLTB Kandy District Manager Sanath Prasanna, the driver had lost control of the vehicle when the door near his seat suddenly opened while the bus was in motion. As he attempted to close it, he had lost control of the bus, causing it to overturn.
Hospital sources said the injured passengers are in stable condition. Wattegama Police are conducting further investigations.
