Colombo, Sept. 21 (Daily Mirror) - The father of Vihanga Tejantha, a 20-year-old killed in the 2019 Easter Sunday bomb attack at Colombo’s Shangri-La Hotel, has called for justice at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Speaking on behalf of the Centre for Society and Religion and Franciscans International, Suraj Nilang urged a thorough, independent and speedy investigation to hold all perpetrators accountable.
He also called for full economic, social and psychological support for the victims’ families and the injured.
Tejantha was among the few non-Christian victims in the attacks, which primarily targeted Christian worshippers.
Furthermore, Nilang expressed concern that nearly a year after Anura Kumara Dissanayake became President, key masterminds remain unidentified and investigations continue to face serious shortcomings.
