Colombo, April 16 (Daily Mirror) - A fabricated article falsely attributed to the Daily Mirror is currently being circulated on social media, misleading readers.
The article, titled “Fans advocate for Ashok Pathirage release after controversial interview,” does not originate from the Daily Mirror and has not been published on any of its official platforms.
The misleading content appears to mimic the layout and branding of the Daily Mirror Online website, giving it the appearance of a legitimate news report.
In recent months many misleading reports misusing the Daily Mirror logo have been circulating online and complaints have been lodged with the relevant authorities.
An investigation is underway.
The Daily Mirror urges the public to rely only on its official newspaper, website, and verified social media channels for accurate information, and to refrain from sharing unverified or misleading content.
