Extreme weather claims two lives; 21,888 affected: DMC

Two individuals have died while 21,888 people from 5,212 families in eleven districts have been affected due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said today.

The affected are from Hambantota, Galle, Trincomalee, Killinochchi, Kalutara, Gampaha, Colombo, Puttalam, Rathnapura, Kegalle  and Kandy.

Moreover, two houses have been completely damaged while 117 houses were partially damaged due to the inclement weather.

264 people from 64 families have been sent to four safe locations. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
